Ingredients
2cupsbroccolichopped
2cupscauliflowerchopped
2cupschopped ham
2cupsdiced potatoes3 potatoes
1½cupsgrated cheddar cheese
1½cupsmilk
2tbspflour
2tbspbutter
½tspground cloves
1tbspmaple syrup
3tbspDijon mustard
½tspsalt
½tspfresh ground pepper
¼cupbread crumbs
Instructions
Preheat oven to 400° F
Place the potatoes in a large saucepan, cover with water, then place the broccoli and cauliflower on top. Cover with a lid and boil for about 10 minutes, or until potatoes are tender. Drain and add to a casserole dish.
Add butter to the saucepan at medium heat and after the butter has melted, add the flour. Whisk the flour and butter together and allow to cook for about a minute Make a roux by adding the milk, a little at a time, whisking frequently over medium heat. Once the mixture is well blended and has thickened a little, stir in the cheese, mustard, salt, pepper, cloves and maple syrup and heat until the cheese melts.
