Ingredients
  1. 2 cups broccoli
  2. 2 cups cauliflower
  3. 2 cups chopped ham
  4. 2 cups diced potatoes (3 potatoes)
  5. 1 onion, diced
  6. 1½ cups grated cheddar cheese
  7. 1½ cups milk
  8. 2 tbsp flour
  9. 1 tbsp butter
  10. ½ tsp ground cloves
  11. 1 tbsp maple syrup
  12. 3 tbsp Dijon mustard
  13. ½ tsp salt
  14. ½ tsp fresh ground pepper
  15. ½ tsp turmeric
  16. ½ tsp paprika
  17. ¼ cup bread crumbs
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 400° F
  2. Place the potatoes in a large saucepan, cover with water, then place the broccoli and cauliflower on top.
  3. Cover with a lid and boil for about 10 minutes, or until potatoes are tender; drain and set aside.
  4. In an enamel lined, cast iron roast pan, sauté the onion until transparent.
  5. Stir in the ham, cloves, and mustard and heat for about a minute
  6. Use a shaker or whisk to mix the flour and the milk.
  7. Stir the milk mixture and the maple syrup into the roast pan.
  8. Add the salt, pepper, turmeric, cheese, broccoli, cauliflower and potatoes; combine well.
  9. Top with the bread crumbs and paprika.
  10. Bake for 30 minutes, uncovered.
  11. Allow to cool for about 5 minutes before serving.
